Resources for Families
It's hard being a parent. Here are resources we've rounded up that might help you out.
The Autism Foundation of Illinois provides scholarships for private health insurance when families have Medicaid. Medicaid becomes the secondary insurance and continues to cover all medical expenses, but families can gain access to more in-network providers and shorter waitlists.
HIPP, or the Health Insurance Payment Program, helps families with high medical insurance expenses to pay/reimburse the cost of the health insurance premiums.
The Turning Wheels Foundation provides grants for therapies to families in need of assistance to ensure access to the needed therapies.
Project iAm provides scholarship opportunities to children with autism to receive the therapies of their choice.
The HealthWell Pediatric Assistance Fund helps helps children with medical expenses when they are being treated for chronic or life-altering conditions.
The United Healthcare Children's Foundation provides children ages 3-6 with one-time grants to help cover the cost of ABA therapy. The child must have medical insurance to access this grant.
The Oracle Health Foundation provides financial assistance for medical expenses including related expenses such as lodging, devices, and more.
The Chicago Autism Network covers health insurance premium costs and out-of-pocket expenses for families receiving therapy for a full calendar year. Applications open in August.
The Autism Hero Project grant assists with or covers the cost of health insurance premiums when children receive a minimum of 12 hours per week of ABA therapy. Applications open in September.
The Autism Care Today Grant provides financial assistance with products and treatments for autism. Applications are accepted during the fall season.
